Arse end of the Commonwealth Games

Arse end of the Commonwealth Games Arse end of the Commonwealth Games, originally uploaded to Flickr.

I think I left my run too late. I rode my bike into town to see the fish. There are a few in the distance of this bad photo. But basically, I missed the whole thing.

I did, however, literally bump into Lord Mayor John So as I was negotiating my way through the crowds. He was shaking someone's hand and saying, 'hello, welcome to Melbourne.'

Then I passed a whole lot of posters trying to get me excited about the Grand Prix. Then I got caught up with Flower Show building paraphenalia in the Carlton Gardens. Then I came home.

I did not leave Sydney for this kind of carry on. I left it because the Olympic Games and Bondi's popularity turned me into a cumudgeon. Perhaps I should move back there, it might be quieter these days.
