Doing my block in

This wild and steep block might be ours soon - if we can get a planning permit through (a fact about which there is some doubt).

Block of land - Chewton - 2

Property purchase triggers anxiety, and I am finding that my essential pessimism is being unleashed. Isn't Australia going to dry up, burn and turn into cinder? If so, will said investment also go up in smoke? But the idea of building off the grid makes me feel like I am doing something. (Oh god - I am turning into one of those people who did things like build bunkers in 1999 so that they'd survive the computer glitches that were going to end the world.) Anyway, stay tuned for riveting posts about trying to get zoning changed and deal with neighbors who have already told us they will object to any one building on the block.

But there were kangaroos on the property, and lots of wildflowers - so perhaps if we actually get the land I might feel more optimistic about some things as well.
