Glorious

We've just had the most extraordinary thunderstorm here in Melbourne. Most of this morning the humidity has built until it felt like Jakarta or somewhere - 28 degrees but unbelievably hot. Then the sky went deep, dark grey. Then we brought in the washing. Then the cats rushed in. Then it exploded - jsut before Wilson got his tail in the door. I assume there are floods all over the place. Fitzroy St is like a river. The kids next door were playing in the rain, and then I joined them. Then I washed the car. Everyone was out the front of the street and smiling and chatting to each other. Thunder is still roiling everywhere. It felt like all the heat of a long, too hot summer being washed away. Virginia took lots of pictures.

There it goes again - more rain! It's the most excitment we've had in these parts for a long time.
