Graffitti artist in prison

Noam Shoan has been thrown into PRISON for 3 months for doing grafitti. It's a fucking outrage.

He didn't do the art I've photographed below (well, not that I know - maybe he did). It's from the laneways around my house and I took the photos this morning as I was walking around enjoying the sunny morning and empty streets. I share them with you to express my general enthusiasm for the form: in solidarity.

disagreer says:

No it's not ridiculous, an graphic designer he may now be, but his sentence is for causing over $50k in damage to public assets just through tagging - this is not art in my view.

Compare that with the pictures linked here, if he was jailed for doing something like the above then yeah, fucking outrageous. But for creating such ugly defamation over such a long period of time... I have no sympathy.

Joe Public says:

It's not for me to judge what is or isn't art. However, I don't presume to rub my preferences in others' faces. I expect similar courtesy from those who believe spray, scratch, texta and doof are legimitate. I don't expect I should hold my breath.
