Homophobic Bullshit no. 15,590

'Adoptions of foreign children by same-sex couples will not be recognised in Australia, under legislation foreshadowed by the Federal Government.'It's good to know the Australian government thinks it's important to deny children legal rights as a way of discouraging same-sex couples adopting. Because of course a child would be better off living its life in an orphanage than dealing with perversion it's whole life.

HOW DO THESE PEOPLE'S MINDS WORK? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?

It's left to Andrew Bartlett to make sense on this issue: "It won't even prevent an adoption; it will just leave children who have been adopted with reduced legal and social recognition and protection, and a less stable family environment. . . . As soon as the family walks through Australian customs, the child will cease to have two legal parents and one of the parents will cease to have any legal rights or responsibilities for their child."

Views from the Floor

Tom says:

It really is astonishing the lengths the Federal Government seems to be willing to go to in order to keep "the gays" out of mainstream life in this country. It's akin to excising all our northern islands lest a boatful of desperate refugees happens to make it across the water.

It's the sort of disgusting hysteria we have unfortunately come to expect from them. Will be interesting to see what becomes of this Bill.
