It's Time

Last night I went to the Geelong -Collingwood Prelimary final. We won but it would have to have been one of the most stressful games I have ever watched. I stood alone in standing room with a very restricted view (my fancy girlfriend had a reserved ticket elsewhere in the ground). When it looked like Geelong wouldn't win there were plastic cups of beer being thrown around. Drunk men swayed with children on their shoulders and swore like pirates (do pirates say filthy fucking cunt?). And when the final siren called the crowd went off. I've never heard anything like it. The screams of relief - mine included - were deafening. I have no singing voice so it was nice to be able to sing the Geelong theme song at the top of my voice without fear of failure.

So, next week. The Grand Final. It's been 44 years - about 3 months before I was born - since we last got one. It's Time.
