Lichen, Point Lobos
Lichen, Point Lobos, originally uploaded to Flickr.
It was still cold further south, but the lichen was crazy. Point Lobos made up for the horror of the 17-mile-drive, a 'scenic' road we paid $8.75 to drive through and turned out to be golf courses and big houses. And yes, some very cute otters. The drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles took about 5 hours, with all the lichen and otters we had to stop to check out. (No otter pic - they were much harder to pin down than the lichen. But cute. Very cute.)
