Lonely Planet has been sold
This is where I work.

Today a large percentage of the company was sold to BBC Worldwide. It doesn't change my working life and things will continue much as they did before. But I always shed a tear when and Independent publisher stops being Independent - especially a company with such a wonderful history as Lonely Planet's. I haven't been there for long -but have always been proud that it was a big part of Melbourne's publishing scene. (The good news is our head office will remain in Melbourne).
