My day and night

I walked through the Tenderloin the other night (after seeing Avenue Q), and there was nothing tender about it, that's for sure. Dozens of homeless riling each other and trying to find some pavement to sleep on. I found it distressing.

Today I got lost in West Oakland which people talk also about as very dangerous, though I have to say it wasn't for the half hour I was wandering around. Someone from Lonely Planet had to come and pick me up as I'd got so thoroughly lost which was slightly embarrasing.

West Oakland

Tonight I had dinner with friends in Rockridge Oakland, and took some pictures as I walked back to my hotel. I love this busker. His saxophone brings tears to the eye. (Maybe because I am missing my main cats).
