My week

This week I have had a really good meal at this restaurant in Johnston Street.

I watched an episode of Angel from Season 5 that is close to the best 40 minutes of pop culture I've ever seen. Whedon is a genius. And I say this not being a big Angel fan. It's Smile Time is about a group of muppets infecting the brains of young children. Angel himself gets turned into a muppet (and yes, that muppet transforms into a vampire). I have always been freaked out by puppets and this episode perfectly captures how truly creepy they are.

Wilson got fanged in the head. I did not succeed in capturing the deep fang mark that almost pierced his brain on film, so here he is sleeping off the antibiotics and painkillers we've been pumping into him.

Wilson has been fanged

I failed in my attempt to rally a group of friends (who should feel free to slag me off in the comments below) to go cycling from Wangaratta to Bright. Instead Virginia worked a bit on the Readings website which she has just launched. (Doesn't it look great?) Last night we went to see Blade Runner: The Final Cut and it was, I must say, the best version I have seen. It is also the most violent version with eyes being gouged out etc. The film has the most glorious lingering and gentle shots which I can't imagine an action film these days allowing itself. It is the version that is most explicit about the fact that Deckard is a replicant. I was horrified to realize the future that it depicts is LA in 2019. When I first saw the film in 1982 that seemed a century away. Now. . .

Last, but not least, Mum delivered a tub and a lot of soil, so I now have a vege garden, in the bluestone lane at the back of our house.

vege garden

I hope the veges don't get nicked - but if they do, it doesn't feel like a bad thing to give vegetables to the world. What will piss me off is vandalism (my pots out the front get mangled now and then, by the drunk Standard The Standard crowd on their way home.)

I'm guessing Angle is a very hip way of saying Angel :)

I would join you, it's just along way from alice to Wang. The rest looks easy.
