Offering
Last night we had dinner at Chong's and he cooked what would have to be one of the best meals we've ever eaten. A kind of tofu and prawn solid soup, followed by sesame chicken, ginger mushrooms, tofu, brown rice, broccoli and asparagus. All cooked in special ways. Desert was tapioca with palm sugar and coconut milk which was AWESOME. Though the texture freaked Virginia out.
Then he gave me some persimmons to bring home. And lo, they were still here when I got up. Like so.

Anyway, when someone works that hard on a meal that they serve you, it feels like an offering. It's a very lovely thing to do and it made us happy.

I Love your story, Passage through India. This is the second time I have come across it, and it
felt like a familiar friend. You write eloquently.

Thanks Terri - I'm pleased you like it. It was a low key story which meant I haven't had much feedback on it.

This is a great photo of persimmons, Sophie. They look gorgeous. It's strange, though, how I love the way they look, but don't find their taste all that appetising. Something about the sliminess.
Your photo has inspired me to pull out a piece I wrote about persimmons and other home-grown fruit and dust it off. thanks.
