No one cares
I love this blog post on why Los Angeles is great. I'm in total agreement. I still remember one of the first nights I spent there. I lay awake for most of the night listening to the police helicopters overhead (this was around the time of the Rodney King trials) and I thought to myself: I've always known the world was dangerous, but this is the first city I've spent time in that flaunts that fact. Peversely, I found the acknowledgement of danger made me feel safe - that I could trust my senses.
Also - who doesn't like a big sign?
