Seal slaughter
How low can you go? Forty fur seals were slaughtered yesterday and three researchers working on the island were almost shot as well - but at least they had the option of running, something that the fur seals couldn't do. 'The animals, which are the world's fourth-rarest seal species, were shot on Wednesday on Kanowna Island, off Wilsons Promontory, in the state's south-east.'
