Spanish cats

I have been remiss on the cat blogging front. The following cat is from Castello d'Empuries in Spain and is hanging out in what was called the Jewish Quarter of town, though various signs noted that the Jews had been driven out of the area in the fifteenth century. Note how profoundly different this cat is from cats from other countries I have recently visited.

Castello de Empuries - 16

Take, for example, this cat from Cambridge. Cambridge - 2 Or this big one, that was hanging out at Salvador Dali's pool. (Which is shaped like a penis. But that's a form of blogging I don't plan to get into here.) Cadaques - 12

Hmm, that spanish cat looks a bit like Leonard.

Travelling in Italy several years ago, I was impressed by how much cats seemed to be a part of public life. There was always the same cat waiting at the vaporetto stop in Venice every morning, and the same commuters petting him/her. I can't imagine that happening in Sydney, etc.
