Writers, travelling
I was very taken with this article in the Age in which writer Gail Jones explores why it is writer's travel:'Colm Toibin once wrote that the writers of Dublin "thickened" the city for him, compensated for "our great loneliness, on the periphery of things". I like to think there is a wish in reading and writing for every place to be a "centre", for every site to be considered worthy of an honouring inscription.'
